1. At what point in the trailer are we told the name of the film? why is this?
a. we are told the name of the film right at the end of the trailer this is so the audience will remember the name of the film.

2. why are we told who is starring in the film?
a. we are not told who is staring in the film just the producer.

3.How is this information given to us? why?
a. it is given to us through inter- titles. This is so it is visual to the audience and so they can see its a well known producer and created other films such as texas chain saw massacre

4.What type of action do we see in the film?
a. we see violence, weapons, and lots of screaming and people frightened

a. The clues the music gives us is the its sinister, mysterious and dark to represent that there will be death and lots of horror

a. no the trailer dose not come with a voice over, it has a women speeking however telling us a story about her soon jason, who turns out to be the killer in the film.

a. We think the voice was chosen to create suspison, and to create sinister tension and leave us wondering more.

a. The speed compares in the trailer than it does from a clip because in the trailer all the best parts of the actions are put in so it how it attracts the audience to go see it.

a. it gets fast towards the end, however it slows down right at the end when showing the title of the film.

a. We are not told much information from the film, only given the name, but we are shown that is about a boy called jacob and that he wears a mask and kills a group of young people.

a. the point we are told the name of the trailer is right at the end of the clip.

a. the audience is aimed at 18 years and older. we can tell his because of the violence and weapons used.

we are told the name of the film at the end of the trailer, so the audience is left in suspense right and till the end, also so the audience will remember the name more if it is at the end

we see brutal weapons and screaming.

it sounds robotic and is very sinister this shows that this is a horror because its slow and doomy.

a Yes it does it tell us the life of the killer

the voice was chosen to create tension and to tell the story. Th voice is very chilling and gets the audience spooked but intreged to know the story.

the speed of the teaser trailer is a lot faster that in would a clip of a film because its to show’s the most interesting parts and the most action parts. this is so the audience is fascinated by the film and what to see the rest.

The main figure is the victims hand, this is presented illustratively.

i think the intended audience is 18 because the poster is graphical with a picture of a cut of hand.

Persuasive techniques used in this poster is of a cut of hand, this will make the audience want to go see it because it shows that its violent, scary and gory. Also the writing is in bold black so it stands out and catches the audiences eye.

with the use of computers and cgi, its not that expensive.

1.Is it an effective poster? why?
yes the poster is effective because the picture is of a a dead hand and it attracts the audience and shows its going to be a chilling,bloody film

it does not really communicate with the audience as it is quite plan and dosent really tell much to the audience

3. Are there any alternative readings which might harm the message of the marketing campaign?
there is not alternative message, its very plan and simply shows its a horror.

What are the main colors used in the poster and what do they connote?

It is very dark and dull, lots of browns and grey’s. They give the impression of darkness and almost hopelessness and no light. The red stands out as it is the only color that does not blend in with the others on the posters, this color and the blonde hair.

What symbols are used in the poster?

The hand is covering her mouth is very significant, she is an innocent victim unable to respond to the terrors she is experiencing, she is unable to cry for help. This helpless situation is every woman's nightmare. Her eyes are also staring straight at her attacker, this is significant as the whole basis of the film are the eyes watching you.

What are the main figures/objects/background of the poster? Are they represented photographically, graphically, or illustratively?

The main feature of this poster is the face and the hand covering it. In the background we have the hills iconic as they are part of the title.

There is only one message and it is visual and like a tag line of the whole film.

Is it an effective poster? why?
It is an effective poster and this is because it grabs the viewers attention and gets them asking questions

Does it communicate with the audience effectively?
I think that it clearly tells the viewer what to expect from the film and who to expect in it.

Are there any alternative readings which might harm the message of the marketing campaign?
Only that it is a horror and that it may put people off

Is the poster offensive in any way?
Possibly towards feminists as it shows women once again very stereotypical of the women being the damsel in distress.
